We open up C-USA play tomorrow night against UTEP in Moody. UTEP is a Top 25 type team that is bigger and better than last year....but so are we!

What is the difference with conference play?

1. Scouting - each team is studied more by the opponents so we are more familiar with each other. This makes execution and tweaking more important.

2. Crowds - at many of the venues the intensity of the home fans will be more intense, thus creating some good home court advantages. We hope we can create this environment at SMU.

3. Sense of urgency - with league bragging rights at stake every week there is an urgency to each practice and each game.

I love this time of year.
