We rung in the New Year with a fun performance by defeating A&M-CC by 30 points! I was certainly pleased with our performance! I finally feel like our team is "whole". By that I mean that our roster is in place with Mouhammad settled after becoming eligible at the semester break and our starters are in place. We have finally settled on a lineup that I feel puts us in position to defend in a man-to-man defense while also being able to score the ball. This should settle the players into their roles and free them up to understand our offensive and defensive concepts better while getting a better feel of each other.

I was thinking about the Mavs and their slow start as they were getting used to new coaches and new players. It took them about 15 games to figure out how they were going to play and who was going to play. They have settled into a rotation and focused on the defensive end of the floor and, as a result, have played better. Maybe it has taken us several games to get the same feel?

Let's hope so! I hope we can get on a roll as we start 2009!
