The Battle of Tarawa in WWII was on the History Channel tonight. When I came home from practice my son had the show on the TV. He likes the History Channel and is very interested in military history.

Watching the show on Tarawa, an island in the South Pacific, we learned of interesting strategies, but more so, we observed the graphic filming of death and savage killing! War is brutal.....devastating! I can't imagine being a soldier in war. I respect them all tremendously.

Today is a day to thank all the soldiers who served and who are serving our country in the armed forces. We can't thank these men and women enough for all they do and have done! Without their efforts we don't have the best country in the world!
