"What up Dog?"
I grew up having a dog named Sandy. Sandy was killed by a car when I was in second grade. It was a sad day at 1824 Freeman Ave. A few years later I got a paper route for Newsday. I delivered about 35 papers a day. Sunday mornings were the biggest challenge as all the stray dogs were out! You learned how to ride a bike with one foot because you were busy kicking dogs with your other foot as you were being chased down the street by every German shepherd and Irish setter in the neighborhood!
Fast forward 30 years and my family decides they want a dog. I got out-voted 3-1 two years ago!!! We ended up getting a Westie and my daughter named him Zorro! Go figure....a small white dog named Zorro!!!
Turns out Zorro is "my dog"! Zorro hangs with me when I am home. He sits at my feet, he gets the paper with me in the morning and he even jumps in the bed at night!
Who would have thought that I would have a dog....and like it!
