It was great to see the Dallas Mavericks practicing in the Crum Basketball Center today! There was Dirk Nowitzki shooting jumpers, Jason Kidd throwing "no looks", "Jet" Terry stroking "the three", new head coach Rick Carlisle running practice and Mark Cuban observing his team in the home of SMU Basketball.

This is terrific "traffic" for SMU. To have this first-class NBA team in our building gives our program and University wonderful exposure!

The comments about our practice facility from some of the Mavs players and staff made me proud:

• "I have been to a lot of places and this is the best facility in the country," said one assistant.
• "They didn't miss any details...even the doors close quietly in this gym," said another.

Dirk was even quoted in the Dallas Morning News as saying: "...everything's great. The weight room is big, the locker room is great. And the gyms are great. Obviously we want to thank SMU for the hospitality."
