On Friday, I had the pleasure of attending the luncheon for the kickoff of the new "Second Century" campaign to raise 750 million dollars for SMU. Dr. Turner did a fabulous job of presenting the campaign. His ability to lead is very evident. At times I felt he was a "coach" as he clearly defined goals and the reason we had these goals. He set the vision and told us how we are going to get there. Dr. Turner also excited the masses as he let it be known that we will be here at a critical time for the University as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of SMU.

Some people thank me at times for attending events like this. My reaction is that I am a small part of this institution and I don't operate in a silo. By attending these events, I learn more about SMU and I can then share the excitement when I talk to recruits and their parents.

We are at a great University that is on the move....a "stampede", if you will!
