I am in Los Angeles scouting another high school event. The weather here is much nicer than Las Vegas as it even got to about 67° at night!

This evening I met up with Jere Macura and his girlfriend, Jes, at one of my favorite restaurants. The Kettle is located in Manhattan Beach and is open 24 hours. My favorite dishes - the banana pancakes or the bowl of chicken tortilla soup. Killer stuff!

It is a great feeling when a former player goes out of his way to meet with you! Jere played for me at Notre Dame and now plays professionally in Croatia, his native country. He is in town visiting Jes, who is a lawyer in So Cal. They met at ND.

Coaching young men that have dual goals is special for me. I enjoy helping young men improve as players, developing them for the professional ranks, but also counseling them on career choices. SMU attracts young men that have dual goals, goals of the NBA and preparing for the opportunities that come after the ball stops bouncing.
