"Sons and Sports"
How about Tiger Woods! One of the greatest feats I have ever seen in sports became even more unbelievable when I learned of the severity of Tiger's injured leg. After winning the US Open on the fifth day in a play-off/sudden death round against the charismatic Rocco Mediate, the world of golf learned that "El Tigre" had a stress fracture in his left leg and a torn ACL. Tiger knew of this before the Open started!!! That is incredible, especially considering the amount of walking a golfer has to endure along with the twisting that goes on in the left leg as you finish your swing! He adjusted his golf swing and managed the pain to gut out the US Open Championship! His dad would have been proud........
.......it's the same pride as when I witnessed my son, Tucker, hitting two line-drives to centerfield in his baseball game last night! He has been frustrated with baseball, but he worked on his game this week and saw direct results with his two at-bats. My late father who passed away last year was a minor league baseball player and after Tucker's games we used to call my dad so Tucker could give him a run down from his games. After last night's game I said to my son, "Papa would have loved to see you play tonight! He would have been so proud!" Tucker's response was, "I am sure he was watching. He is all around us!"
Wow! "Sons and Sports" are a pretty powerful combination!
