"What a Weekend"
I spent all weekend in Chicago covering the NCAA's for Sprint. (Go to Youtube.com and search “Sprint NCAA Tournament”. Last year we had over 20 million "hits".) It was a lot of fun watching some GREAT games. My personal favorite:
Davidson vs. Georgetown!
I started my coaching career working for Bob McKillop at Davidson in the late '80's. Bob was my high school coach. Our first three years we were had terrible records, but we had three good recruiting classes. I left for Kansas, but those kids started to mature and Davidson stared winning!
Bob has been there almost 20 years and has done one of the best coaching jobs in all of basketball! I am happy for him that the country is finally getting a chance to see what he can do!
How about Stephen Curry. He had 40 on Gonzaga and 30 on Georgetown! Not too shabby for a kid that was passed over by the "big boys"! He was a little 5-11 shooting guard out of Charlotte who's dad played in the NBA after a career at Virginia Tech. After committing to Davidson he grew about three inches and his game blossomed! Man, is he fun to watch!
I can't wait 'til next week!
By the way, congratulations to Rhonda and the women's team for a terrific year! They were fun to watch.
