"UTEP"
We started out playing the worst basketball of the year as UTEP built an 11-0 lead. We calmly came back to tie the score at 13 on some solid play. Then we started turning the ball over, helping UTEP score 22 points off turnovers in the first half! We dug ourselves a hole, but we were only down 12 at the break.
The second half became a little bit more physical and I got annoyed at the rough play. Deciding to get things stirred up, I went out on the floor to get a technical. A move I have used in the past. However, I didn't plan on getting two T's! I was sent to the locker room and my staff had to finish the game. I was proud of the fight our team showed in the half as that is the way I want us to play.
There were many positives to take from the game, but the one negative was Derrick Roberts' groin injury. He may have to miss our league home-opener with Houston on Wednesday. That will be a big loss as we are already short handed at that position with Bennie Rhodes being out with a stress fracture.
Thanks for reading.
