Courtney Washington is currently in her fourth year with the SMU sports medicine team, working with the volleyball, equestrian, cheer and pom teams.
Courtney received her bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from TCU in May 2008. She then went on to become a graduate assistant at the University of Mississippi, working with their women's tennis, football, and track and field programs. After obtaining her master's degree in 2010, she went on to work at Texas A&M University- Commerce. For the next two years, she worked with the TAMU-C women's basketball and volleyball programs, as well as overseeing their graduate assistantships. Courtney has also worked as an intern with the Texas Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Group, under the direction of one of the Dallas Maverick's orthopedic physicians.
Currently, Courtney serves as the District Chair of the Young Professionals’ Committee for the National Athletic Trainers Association. She also serves as a Clinical Preceptor in conjunction with the UTA Accredited Sports Medicine Program.
Courtney currently resides in Lancaster, Texas, with her husband Calvin Washington, and their dog Trey.
