Southern Living Names SMU's Boulevard A Top-20 Tailgate
Aug. 21, 2012
Birmingham, Ala. - The editors at Southern Living have posted a pre-season roster of the top 20 Southern schools with the greatest pregame celebrations and SMU's Boulevard made the list. Tailgating is a time-honored tradition at SMU. From the food and drink to the style and traditions, nobody does tailgating quite like the Mustangs.
Gameday at SMU is all day long on The Boulevard. SMU's beautiful Bishop Boulevard is tailgate central for fun and entertainment. Along The Boulevard fans can mingle with family, friends, and neighbors. They can bring a picnic, fire up a grill for a barbeque, or visit the many food vendors stationed along the way.
Fans can vote for SMU as the South's top tailgating spot at southernliving.com/tailgate or via smartphone by downloading the complimentary Digimarc Discover app and scanning the corresponding text. Voting is open until Oct. 1. One vote per day is counted toward the final tally, but votes placed on Saturdays count twice toward the final tally.
Southern Living will crown the winner of "The South's Best Tailgate" at a home game by Nov. 10.
"Tailgating combines two of the South's greatest loves: food and football. No one on earth celebrates game day like we do: it's a party, family reunion, and fashion show all in one," said Southern Living Editor Lindsay Bierman.
