DALLAS (SMU) - SMU Mustang Athletics, in coordination with Blakeway Worldwide Panoramas, has captured the largest photo taken of Moody Coliseum and made it available for fans to find and tag themselves and purchase to commemorate the reopening on Jan. 4, 2014.
"We wanted to commemorate this historic day with something new and different," Senior Associate Athletic Director Brad Sutton said. "We liked the idea of a large panoramic photo because of both the interactive nature of the image, which allows fans to `tag' themselves, as well as the high-quality photo it provides for fans who want to purchase an image that captures the excitement of the day. We are very happy with the final product."
Fans present at the Mustangs' 74-65 win over No. 17/15 Connecticut can find themselves in the 16 billion plus pixel shot and tag themselves as part of the historic event.
"It was an absolute pleasure working with the SMU Athletic Department on this engagement," said James Simmons, a spokesman with Blakeway Worldwide Panoramas. "We really appreciate them allowing us to be part of the historic opening of the newly renovated Moody Coliseum, and the incredible win against the Huskies. They really put together a fun engagement."
