2016 SMU VOLLEYBALL CAMPS

The SMU Volleyball Staff would like to invite you to our 2016 Summer Volleyball Camps. The camps are open to all girls of all skill levels from grades 6-12th. The coach to player ratio allows you to get a lot of repetition, while learning different techniques to reach your maximum potential. We hope to see you this summer!

CAMP I: Skills Session Day Camps (July 11-12)
CAMP II: Junior High Commuter Camp (July 13-15)
CAMP III: Position Training Commuter /Residential Camp (July 18-20)

CAMP I: Skills Session Day Camp

DATE: Monday, July 11th and Tuesday, July 12th
Open for grades 6th-12th and grouped by skill level and age

$75 for one Session morning or afternoon
$140 for one Full Day
$220 for both Sessions morning and afternoon on both the 11th and 12th

Check-in will be at 8:30am for the morning session (or for the full day) in the main lobby of Moody Coliseum
Check-in for the afternoon session only will be at 12:30pm in the main lobby of Moody Coliseum.

Note: Due to the complexities of attacking there will be two sessions covering this skill.

July 11th--Monday
9am-12pm
The morning session will be a Setting/Attacking clinic. The focus will be on developing technique in each position through repetition. The second portion of this clinic will be dedicated to setters working with the attackers on position specific play sets.

1pm-4pm
The afternoon session will be a Serve Receive and Serving clinic. All aspects of serving will be introduced and trained through repetition.

July 12th-Tuesday
9am-12pm
The morning session will be a Setting/Attacking clinic. The focus will be on developing technique in each position through repetition. The second portion of this clinic will be dedicated to setters working with the attackers on position specific play sets.

1pm-4pm
The afternoon session will be a Serving and Individual/Team Defense clinic. We will cover all types of serving including: Float, Jump Float, Top Spin and will work on making the serve more consistent in different locations of the court. We will also work on all aspects of individual and team defense.

CAMP II: Junior High Commuter Camp
DATES: July 13th-15th - Wednesday to Friday
COST: $260.00 for all Campers

Check-in will be at 7:30 am in the main lobby of Moody Coliseum

This camp is designed for the player who wants to improve in all skills of the game. All campers will be grouped by age and skill level. You can move up to a different age group but not down. This camp is for players in 6th - 8th grades. Morning sessions will be designated as skill development and the afternoon sessions will incorporate team drills and team play.

Camp Hours for Camp II:
  Day 1: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm Lunch provided
  Day 2: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm Lunch provided
  Day 3: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm Lunch provided

CAMP III: Position Training Commuter /Residential Camp
DATES: July 18th-20th - Monday to Wednesday
COST: $260-Commuter | $360-Overnight Resident

Check-in will be at 12 pm on the 18th in the main lobby of Moody Coliseum for Commuters
Check-in will be at 11:30 am on the 18th at the assigned dorm of Overnight Residents

This particular camp is designed for the advanced player wanting to work on their specific position. This camp is open to any and all players from 9th grade to incoming college freshmen who have had club experience. There will be a combination of position work and team play.

Camp Hours for Camp III:
  Day 1: 1 pm - 8 pm - Dinner provided
  Day 2: 9 am - 8 pm - Breakfast for Residents only, Lunch and Dinner provided for all
  Day 3: 9 am - 12 pm - Breakfast for Residents only
